Pooda Wisdom

The pain of truth is easier to deal with than the pain that comes from lies.

Untruths do nothing but lead to more untruths that lead to revelation of the untruth.
Revelation of the untruth leads to disappointment and resentment.

Hurt my feelings with the truth.
Break my heart with a lie.

Keep it factual.

It's just that simple.

Quote of the Day

itsMONE:
its funny when people say they like my style, because i feel like i don't have a set "style". i just do what i want.

*****

Style is what you make it. It is the first impression you make on someone, the first statement you make when you walk into a room. Style isn't "who" you're wearing, its what you wear and how you wear it. I take pride in my style, so what I put on everyday exudes my mood and the essence of who I am. Labels don't make me. I make the labels.

Fashion fades... style lasts forever.

"The Work" video

I love this video. Wale is definitely putting on for the DMV. Seeing places I grew up around, DC landmarks and public housing, makes me proud of the region that raised me. Nothing is like it.

Shouts to the Board of Administration for staying true.

Short-lived Jewels

Today I said bye to the nipple ring.
It was good while it lasted.
I'll keep my charm for memories.

Naturally She

How can anyone not see her beauty? A natural woman is the most blessed gift this world could ever receive. I love this woman. Her style-defying creativity and soul-capturing personality are what set her apart from most of many.

You must respect a woman with a mean shoe game.

NYC Fashion's Night Out

The night when the who's whos and the who's nots combine. From Soho to Fifth Ave, Jordan and I had the swindles on lock. Free drinks, famous faces, and unique styles. Business cards and cut lines.

The gold backpacks were everywhere.
I had the best spot to see N.E.R.D. and Chris Brown... then I lost it.
My DJing soul sister from afar.

Finally!
Fast cars with bad broads in em.
Paparazzi! I see you Taye Diggs.
Things got crazy.
The LV dancers gave the corner life!
I wanted to buy the Gucci baby... but she wasn't for sale.

That's how you keep em on a leash.
The glass of Goose that did the trick.
The opposite sisters.

Captured by me.

R.I.P. Pac

I'm coming to meet you in Cuba.

Fourteen years ago today we lost a lyrical poet, a voice of the hood, mistakenly labeled a gangster rapper. Tupac Amaru Shakur wrote and spoke to the heart of a generation yearning to be heard. Over a decade after his death, he is still a mass favorite and deemed one of the best. His revolutionary message will forever live on through the Hip-Hop culture.

Sorry Cowgirls

Respect to my team for a commendable performance against the Cowboys that led to our 13-7 victory. Our squad pulled out a win after a Cowboy's goal was lost to a holding penalty. Though we still have places to improve, I can notice certain outstanding differences in my teams game. I will only pray that this is a sign of good things to come.

Spotlight on Tyler =)

"Love his hair."

I wanna give a special shot of love to my fam Tyler White. His face has been poppin' up so much lately in the fashion media. He was most recently photographed in the Burberry store in Soho during NYC Fashion's Night Out. Tyler is featured in an all white everything on fashion writer Joselle Yokogawa's blog "Josie's House of Style."

My heart beats with joy as I see Tyler making love to more and more camera's later, gaining much deserved attention for his self-served, eccentric style.

Follow him on Twitter! @chicken_grease

Keep em' goin man.

The Lovely Willow

My joy of the day.

I became entranced with this beauty today. It's gorgeous in the mid-day. And it seems to hang just right. Nostalgic reminders of Pocahontas' Grandmother Willow gave my heart a couple quick beats.

9 Years Ago Today

We will never forget what happened on this day in the year 2001. Our nation witnessed history. A sad history, yes. But an historic event none the less. Lives were lost in an attempt to crush the American spirit portrayed to the the world's other nations.

Innocence lost, families bereaved, a universal mourning.

While we pay respects to our 911 angels, let no one hold hatred in their hearts to the ones who carried out the acts. We can not blame those for what they are taught. Remember, it wasn't a religion's fault, nor a country's fault. Extremists do not represent a whole nation.

We will never find comfort in hating others.

RIP 911.

Damn It Feels Good to be a Taylor

Wiz' rendition of The Geto Boys' "Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangster"

Released for us on his G-day.

My Camera

All summer, ever since I got back from my cruise, I've been thinking that the room attendant stole my camera. I was so convinced that it was him. Long story short, I found out this past weekend that my mom was the Canon thief! She hid it at her house all summer in spite. -__-

Thank God I didn't buy another one when I was going to. That would've been a big chunk of my wallet gone for no reason. BUT the moral of this post is to say that I'm back in the game. It feels good.

The Ressurection

The spiritual awakening... of the substance. A hiatus is just that... a pause. Not the end. Eternal... rarely dormant, but never-ending. Time is needed, breaks are taken. The art continues to live. The word is written. The ideas are shared. Thoughts bloom... blossom. Temporarily halted... forever remaining.

Take a deep breath... exhale. Repeat. Steady pulse and ready. Lifted and blessed. Sky resting.

I'm back.
